We'll discuss and vote on the resolution (on the website) declaring that assault rifles and handguns are unwelcome in our neighborhood and urging our state and national representatives for more reasonable gun policy. So far, the agenda is: Wingra Boats would like some feedback on a plan to start a Wingra Boats-type business on Monona Bay, probably at the shelter at Brittingham Beach on the north side of the bay. Report on the Clean Lakes Alliance's 14 phosphate-reducing goals, especially those specific to urban areas. "Make Music Madison" is a new citywide music festival which will be held June 21, 2013 (summer solstice). Elizabeth Simcock will speak a bit about what plans exist, and what opportunities we have, and is willing to be the neighborhood point person. Wed, 1-Aug-2012 6:30 pm	Goodman Park Playground Location: Goodman Maintenance Facility, 1402 Wingra Creek Pkwy We will discuss the Madison Parks' proposal to replace the current play surface with a sand-colored, shredded, recycled rubber material. The rubber is considered a much safer surface for playgrounds. For safety benefits, see the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission’s Handbook for Public Playground Safety (http://www.cpsc.gov/cpscpub/pubs/325.pdf). The product also meets the U.S. Access Board’s ADA Accessibility Guidelines for Play Areas (http://www.access-board.gov/play/guide/intro.htm).

Tue, 17-Apr-2012 6:00 pm	Model of Bay Creek sign Landscape architect Ken Saiki and neighborhood artist Aaron Laux will take comments at a neighborhood meeting regarding the new Bay Creek sign. This will be at the site on Olin Avenue across from the Goodman Pool. Aaron will have a mock-up of the sign that can be moved from point to point to find the best position for it. The sign itself and future plans (solar sculpture, some kind of edible landscaping, walking paths, possible community garden) are all topics open for discussion and comment. Hope to see you there.
